Description

What’s in it for me?

“How can I find all photos in my catalog that have both a RAW and JPEG version?” That question came to me recently. This report lists all photos that have not a unique base names (file name without the extension).
Or you might want to find all duplicate photos, probably the same photos stored in multiple locations. This report will list all these photos for you!
Save the result as a CSV file and import it into Lightroom with the Photo list importer Lightroom plug-in and you have the photos ready for use in the “LRS_Photo_List” Collection.

For the difference with the Find RAW + NON-RAW report and the Lighroom plug-in “Find similar file names” see the “Related reports” tab.

This report is can be used in conjunction with the Photo list importer Lightroom plug-in.

Specification

Lists all photos in your Lightroom catalog or Quick Collection that have not a unique base name.

How does this query work?

Example, say my image has the file name DAH_20130112_9349.CR2.
This report will extract the first part of the file name until the extension: DAH_20130112_9349 (base name called)
Then it will search the Lightroom catalog for all images that have a file name like DAH_20130112_9349.*

So it will find images like:

  • DAH_20130112_9349.CR2
  • DAH_20130112_9349.JPG,
  • DAH_20130112_9349.TIFF,
  • DAH_20130112_9349.TIFF,
  • DAH_20130112_9349.DNG

However, it will NOT find:

  • DAH_20130112_9349_master.TIFF
  • DAH_20130112_9349_web.JPG
  • DAH_20130112_9349_master_BW.TIFF

Save the result as CSV file or any of the other output options, see Export tab.
